About me
Hello! I am a Bilingual Strategist in Donna ISD. I began teaching in this district 20 years ago and have taught in grades 1st, 3rd, 4th, and 5th. My passion and advocacy for bilingual education has led me to my work in our Bilingual Department. I enjoy learning about and engaging in conversations about emergent bilinguals' rights, history, community issues, brain research, identity, social influences on language, and instructional practices to help them reach their optimal potential linguistically and cognitively. Above all, I am an advocate for students and helping them find the brilliance, competence, artist, potential, and passion within themselves. I look forward to networking with you to learn about new ways to ensure awesome educational experiences for emergent bilingual students and educators!
